People often ask us: Is Theo real?
We like to think so.
His adventures may come from our imagination, but Theo was inspired by something very real: the Valais Blacknose sheep and the farming world of Valais that surrounds them.
I grew up as the daughter of a farmer, so I know that behind the animals and beautiful landscapes is something people don't always see: the work, the responsibility and the commitment that farming requires every day.
So it felt natural that Theo should give something back.
Through Theo & Friends, we partner with local farms and sponsor Valais Blacknose sheep, a small way of supporting the farmers and the animals that are part of where his story began.
Because being part of the flock should mean something.

La Ferme du Grand Bisse - St Jean, Anniviers
La Ferme du Grand Bisse started as a dream and grew into a family adventure.
Today, the farm welcomes visitors to discover agricultural life up close: meeting the animals, experiencing life on the farm and getting a glimpse of what it means to live and work close to the land.
Among the animals are some very familiar Valais faces: Herens cattles and, of course, Valais Blacknose sheep.
And this is also home to one of our Theo — a Valais Blacknose sheep sponsored through Theo & Friends.
Schaf & Meh - Visp
Some animals have a way of drawing you in.
With their black faces, wild curls and unmistakable personalities, the Valais Balcknose quickly became the heart of the Schaf & Meh.
What started with a love for these extraordinary sheep grew into something much bigger, a place where caring for animals, working with nature and sharing life on the farm all come tighter.
People don't just come here to see the sheep. They come to meet them. To spend time with them. And, more often than not, to leave with a smile.
Perhaps that's the thing about the Valais Blacknose.
Once you get to know them, it's difficult not to fall for them.
We certainly did.
